Rebecca Cerna

Raised by a single mother, Rebecca and her six older brothers witnessed firsthand the challenges families face in overcoming systemic barriers and discrimination. Rebecca’s deep empathy and resilience were shaped by these experiences and by her time in a predominantly Black Catholic grammar school, where she discovered a love for music singing in a youth gospel choir. Later, attending a predominantly white private high school highlighted the disparities in her community and strengthened her resolve to advocate for change.

Driven by a mission to uplift and empower youth, Rebecca is passionate about fostering understanding and inclusivity. She believes in nurturing the strengths and abilities of children and families to build a foundation for future generations to thrive as resilient members of society.
Her commitment to leveraging her talents for the betterment of her community reflects the spirit of compassion and inclusivity that is central to Project 88’s mission. Through her advocacy and leadership, Rebecca embodies the transformative power of individual empowerment and
collective action in creating a more just and equitable society.
