Mateus Restani

Piano

Mateus began his piano studies at the age of 13. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano from the University of São Paulo, where he studied with Eduardo Monteiro and Luciana Sayure. This year, he completed a Master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, under the guidance of Winston Choi. In the second semester of 2024, he will return to Chicago to pursue a Performance Diploma at the same institution, supported by a scholarship covering the full tuition.

Restani has had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Clelia Iruzun, Jan Lisiecki, Marisa Lacorte, Arnaldo Cohen, Anna Fedorova, Caio Pagano, Yulianna Avdeeva, Edward Auer, and Stephen Hough. He has performed at prestigious venues in Brazil and abroad, including Teatro Castro Mendes, Teatro Adamastor, Fundação Oscar Americano, Auditório Cláudio Santoro, Sala São Paulo, Ganz Hall (Chicago, IL), and Palacio de la Música (Mérida, MX). He has also been a soloist with orchestras such as the Orquestra Jovem de Guarulhos, Orquestra Sinfônica de Campinas, Orquestra Sinfónica de Yucatán, and Orquestra Experimental de Repertório.

Mateus has participated in four editions of the Festival Internacional de Campos do Jordão, earning a recital to be performed at the edition of 2024, as well as the Festival Internacional de Música de Ávila (Spain). He has been awarded prizes in various national and international competitions, including Concurso Piano em Foco, I Concurso de Piano Gilberto Tinetti, LVMS Piano Competition (Chicago), Concurso Jovens Solistas GruPiano, 8th Concurso Internacional de Piano ‘José Jacinto Cuevas’ Yamaha (Mexico), CCPA Concerto Competition (Chicago), XIV Concurso de Piano Prof. Edna Basseti Habith and the 1st National Chopin Competition of Brazil.
